Meet Our Habitational Insurance Practice Leaders

Marty graduated from The University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 1990, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management & Insurance. He earned a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1992.

Before joining Higginbotham, Marty started as a National Accounts underwriter for The Travelers Insurance Company. In 1995 he became an Agent and later a Partner with Johnson & Bryan. In 1999 Marty helped found the Atlanta branch of the Insurance Office of America, where he was a Partner and served as a director on the board. Of his many accolades, the professional accomplishment he is most proud of is becoming the President of the Young Agents.

Marty’s focus and specialty is the real estate industry, particularly owners and property management companies for habitational risks, including associated business classes. The impact he wants to make in the industry is to equip clients with the knowledge to address risk activity through insurance, risk mitigation, and alternate risk transfer. He differentiates himself by continually involving himself and his associates in all phases of his clients’ accounts, becoming a part of the team, from marketing to claims. The most valuable lesson he learned from his education is that while education is essential, what you do with it is more so.

Meet Our Habitational Insurance Practice Leaders

William Blanchard is a Managing Director at Higginbotham, practice leader of our Construction Division, Surety division and co-practice leader of our Real Estate/Habitational specialty practice. William is a commercial broker and consultant with diverse experience in property and casualty. His risk expertise is focused on construction, surety and property insurance for real estate developers. William received a degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin. William joined Higginbotham in 1994. Based out of our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, he leads a team of 30 sales, customer service and marketing representatives responsible for key business insurance accounts.

William is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing and ranching. In his free time, he manages a ranch and is a Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate member.

He also loves spending time with his wife Beth of 30 years, three daughters and his son.
