Matthew Weersing

At Higginbotham, Matt Weersing focuses on building strong client relationships while delivering strategic business insurance solutions tailored to each organization’s risk profile. He works closely with his clients to understand their operations, exposures, leadership style and long-term goals, then helps design and manage insurance programs that support growth, stability and cost efficiency. Matt collaborates with carrier partners and internal teams to help negotiate coverage and manage renewals, working to ensure clear communication and consistent execution throughout the life cycle of each policy. As a trusted advisor, he helps clients navigate market changes, anticipate risk and make informed insurance decisions.

Matt’s approach to client service is rooted in communication, consistency and trust. He believes clients are best served when they understand not only what coverage they have, but why it matters and how it supports their broader business objectives. His proactive, relationship-driven style emphasizes transparency, follow-through and aligning insurance and bonding programs with a company’s evolving needs.

Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2018. He began his career at Grant Thornton as an audit associate, working with energy and manufacturing clients, before serving as a senior development analyst at Brookfield Properties. He joined Higginbotham in 2025.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors, including golfing and fishing, as well as time with family. Originally from Austin, Matt and his wife, Elise, relocated to Tennessee in 2025 with their Great Dane and now call Lebanon home.
