Ian Shelley

Ian Shelley is a Commercial Risk Advisor at Higginbotham, where he specializes in serving clients in the defense contracting, aviation and advanced manufacturing sectors. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in aerospace and defense, including leadership roles in program management, engineering operations and sustainment at Lockheed Martin and L3Harris, he brings a strategic, operationally-informed approach to risk management.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Ian leverages his background to help businesses navigate risk, enhance contractual compliance and align insurance strategies with FAA and DOD requirements. He collaborates closely with aviation safety consultants and regulatory specialists to deliver integrated, industry-specific insurance solutions.

Ian attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with a double minor in securities/contracts and logistics. He serves as a board member of the Airpower Foundation and is a passionate advocate for veterans. He lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife and two sons.
