Higginbotham, one of the nation’s leading independent insurance brokerages, today announced the opening of its El Paso office, a move that formalizes years of client work in the Borderland as its national footprint continues to grow. With more than 150 sales and support offices across the country, Higginbotham has spent recent years expanding well beyond its Texas roots. El Paso, despite sitting in the company’s backyard, simply hadn’t had a physical office, until now.

Located at 7170 Westwind Drive, Suite 201, the nearly 3,000-square-foot office sits in a prime west El Paso location with easy access to Interstate 10. The office opens with a seven-person team, several of whom are El Paso natives and have served clients in the area for years; the new office formalizes what was already a local presence.

Leading the charge is Micah Harrison, a seasoned insurance professional and long-time El Paso resident with 24 years of industry experience. He joined Higginbotham as Vice President, Employee Benefits in 2025 and will be responsible for expanding the El Paso market.

“El Paso isn’t new to us; we’ve been serving clients here for years,” said Koby Hackradt, Chief Operating Officer, Employee Benefits. “Opening an office is the next step in a relationship we’ve already built. The market is strong, the timing is right and we have the right team in place.”

El Paso clients have access to Higginbotham’s full suite of insurance, financial services and employee benefits solutions, not just at renewal, but with ongoing guidance throughout the life of every policy.

This opening is the latest chapter in Higginbotham’s ongoing national expansion. Ranked 16th among independent brokerages in the U.S. by The Hales Report in 2026, the company has built its reputation by combining national scale with locally embedded teams who understand their markets from the inside out, a model it now enhances with a physical office in El Paso.

“Our clients here have always had access to what Higginbotham offers,” said Harrison. “What they’ll have now is a team they can walk in and meet with. In this business, that still matters.”
