Will Cassidy is a Managing Director at Higginbotham, specializing in complex life insurance transactions for business owners, executives and high-net-worth families.
Will began his financial services career at Thomas Financial Group, an M Financial Group member firm in Tampa, Florida, focusing on estate planning and wealth transfer. There, he earned his insurance license and Series 6 and Series 63 securities licenses. Driven by a desire to continue his family’s legacy – his late grandfather and uncle had 117 combined years with The Equitable/AXA Advisors – Will transitioned to AXA in 2011 and began building Cassidy & Company, where he worked until the company partnered with Higginbotham in 2024.
A graduate of The University of the South (Sewanee), Will earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1994, was a four-year letterman and co-captain of the football team and spent a semester studying at St. John’s College in Oxford, England. He later earned an MBA from the University of South Florida’s Executive Program in 2006.
Will is an active member of FINSECA (formerly AALU), participating in its Legislative Circle and Ambassador programs, and previously served as a board member and president of the Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council. He is licensed for life insurance, annuities, long-term care and variable contracts.
Outside of work, Will enjoys exercising, hunting, reading and spending time with his wife, Annesley, and their three daughters. An active community leader, he served a seven-year term on the Board of Trustees for St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School, including a stint as Chairman from 2014 to 2017. He has served on the Finance Committee of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church as an Elder since 2008 and spent many years on the boards of the Ronald McDonald House and Salvation Army. Will currently serves on the Planned Giving Committee for Tampa General Hospital, was elected to Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church’s Foundation Board in 2024, has served on the Advisory Board to Citizens Bank & Trust since 2021 and previously served a three-year term on the Advisory Board of Stonegate Bank.
