Steve Miller is a Vice President and Practice Leader for Group and Single-Parent Captive Programs at Higginbotham Captive Services, where he has been instrumental in building the firm’s captive specialty practice and developing the Higginbotham Protected Cell Captive.
His background spans a wide range of alternative risk transfer solutions, including single-parent and group captive programs, retrospective programs, large deductible arrangements, reinsurance and fronted programs, with a particular focus on complex primary property and casualty structures. He brings deep knowledge of fronting arrangements and the reinsurance marketplace, developed over the course of a career spent navigating some of the industry’s most sophisticated insurance structures.
Before joining Higginbotham, Steve served as Regional Vice President for a national Managing General Agent, where he led sales and marketing across 13 states over seven years.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kansas State University, a background that has shaped his approach to mentoring emerging talent and building high-performing teams. He leads with a values-based philosophy that is centered on relationship-building, collaborative culture and delivering risk management solutions that create real value for clients.
