Stephen English

Stephen English is a benefits advisor in Higginbotham’s employee benefits division, focusing on health care. Drawing on over a decade of experience as a physician assistant, he brings a unique, patient-centered perspective to his work, enabling him to create tailored solutions that meet the needs of both employers and employees.

With expertise in everything from traditional health, dental and vision coverage to more complex offerings like critical illness and disability insurance, Stephen is fluent in the language of health care providers. He skillfully navigates the complexities of employee benefits and insurance, using his practical knowledge to assess claims data, pharmacy spending and health-related coverage to help deliver effective benefit solutions.

As he did in his health care career, Stephen believes education is the key to success. He takes the time to listen closely to his clients, explaining their options and clearly outlining the value of each to help ensure that both employers and employees feel confident and well-informed about their coverage decisions.

Stephen earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Mississippi College. He has served the Mississippi Academy of Physician Assistants organization in various leadership positions since 2017. In 2023, Stephen was honored as a “40 Gators Under 40” alum. His passion for empowering employers to offer benefits that enhance employee satisfaction, retention and well-being drives his work.
