Rusty Walker

Rusty Walker is a Managing Director and Propane & Fuels Practice Leader at Higginbotham. He’s responsible for getting to know the businesses of both his own clients and those served by producers, so he can help build insurance plans that meet their current and future needs. He joined the firm in 2023 through a partnership with his former agency, where he served as Vice President.

Rusty treats his clients like they’re part of an extended family. He believes in being reachable whenever a need comes up, and in showing up to help however he can. Having grown up in a family business, he learned early that everyone pitches in, and he brings that same all-hands-on-deck mindset to his client relationships. It’s this approach that he sees as his real value: clients know he’ll be there to work through problems with them, not just point them to a solution.

Rusty holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of North Texas. He serves on a producer advisory council for one of Higginbotham’s propane and fuel program carriers. He’s also active in his community, serving on the men’s ministry leadership and children’s ministry teams at Bethel Temple in Cleburne, Texas, and as a board member of Reinspire of Johnson County, which mentors at-risk youth and provides housing, clothing and basic necessities. He also leads a Cleburne men’s community program called the Furnace, which brings men from different churches together.

Rusty and his wife, Melissa, brought their families together and were married in 2017. They have one daughter, three sons, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, two grandsons and two granddaughters — with one more on the way. Outside of family time and church volunteering, he enjoys playing basketball and fishing.
