Paul Bassman

Paul Bassman is a commercial property and casualty insurance broker specializing in risk management solutions for the entertainment and hospitality industry. He cut his insurance teeth with this specialty group while working at Doodson Insurance Brokerage, before further honing his expertise as President and CEO of Ascend Insurance Brokerage, a brokerage connected to every entertainment risk carrier across the globe. But, Paul’s interest in entertainment started much earlier; he previously worked as a talent scout for Capitol Records and later as the president of 226 Music Group, Inc., positions that provided him with a unique insight into the complexities and needs of the industry.

Since joining Higginbotham in 2020, Paul’s business has expanded to encompass all areas of insurance, and he works closely with carriers to create employee benefits programs and life insurance solutions for new clients. Lauded for his knowledge and work ethic, he is a trusted advisor to his clients and a valued resource to his teammates.

Paul, a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, frequently speaks at entertainment trade shows and was recognized as an Entertainment Power Broker in 2022. He has also been cited in well-known publications, including People, Billboard and Pollstar. Paul and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Dallas with their two children.
