Murray Bass III is a Managing Director and benefits advisor at Higginbotham. Murray joined Higginbotham in 2020 through a partnership with Borden Insurance. Prior to joining the employee benefits sector, he managed an industrial real estate development company and a family ranch with a 250-head cow-calf operation and a 1500-head feed yard.
Murray focuses on understanding each client’s business goals and overcoming challenges to help ensure that their company thrives. Building a great team is a crucial part of this process, which provides the edge needed for growth and prosperity. Murray’s expertise spans all areas of health plan finance, including fully insured and self-funded plans, cost containment, health plan data analytics and risk management.
Before entering the workforce, Murray attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Murray is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). Previously, he was vice president of the King High School Soccer Booster Club, served as a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and held board positions with the Corpus Christi Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Coastal Conservation Association and the Padre Soccer League.
