Mary Russell

As President of Higginbotham’s Private Client Services department, Mary leads a dedicated team that serves approximately 15,000 customers.

Before joining Higginbotham in 1990, Mary was a claims representative for five years at American General Insurance, where she adjusted property and casualty claims. Under her leadership, Higginbotham’s personal lines department has grown tenfold. She still focuses on the close, personal relationships she has built with her customers, employees and underwriters, and many of the clients she served in 1992 remain with her today.

Mary is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor (CPRIA). She serves on the board of the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, the BBVA Compass Advisory Board, the PURE National Agents Advisory Council and the Private Risk Management Association (PRMA) Board. She formerly served on Safeco’s Central Advisory Council, winning Safeco’s Personal Achievement Award, State Auto’s Advisory Council and Travelers National Advisory Council, being named Travelers Personal Insurance Agent of the Year in 2013. In 2016, the PRMA awarded Mary the JoAnn Heltibridle Award, which annually recognizes one insurance professional who stands for passionate industry support and client service excellence. In 2019, she was named a Great Woman of Texas by the Fort Worth Business Press.

Mary’s philanthropic involvement includes Arlington Baptist College, Boys & Girls Club, Catholic Charities, Christ Church, Communities in Schools, Cook Children’s Hospital, Girls, Inc., Habitat for Humanity, Scottish Rite Hospital and Stage West Theatre.
