Kyle James

Kyle James is a Managing Partner at Higginbotham with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined the company through its partnership with Financial Benefit Services (FBS) in 2021 and was named Managing Director. In 2023, he was promoted to Managing Partner, further solidifying his leadership within the organization.

Kyle began his career in insurance in 1993 in Lubbock, Texas. In 2002, he joined Financial Benefit Services, where he became President in 2005. Under his leadership and with strong support from his team, FBS grew into one of the largest benefits brokers serving the K-12 sector in Texas.

In his current role, Kyle provides strategic support to Higginbotham’s Richardson office and delivers value to clients by leading the company’s Public Sector division. His client service philosophy is centered on building lasting relationships and acting as an extension of each client’s benefits department.

Kyle earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and English from Texas Tech University in 1990. He is dedicated to serving his community alongside his wife as part of their church’s Legacy Team. Kyle lives in Fort Worth, Texas, and is the proud father of two children, Cade and Jordan, as well as the stepfather to two daughters, Brittany and Brooke. He is also a devoted Pop to his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, despite the frustration it brings.
