John Burkhalter

John Burkhalter advises private equity firms, real estate operators and family offices on capital stewardship, helping clients protect, grow and sustain free cash flow while managing reputational and operational risks. He works to ensure that people, operational, transactional and governance challenges do not disrupt capital, preserving lender confidence, reducing cash flow volatility and protecting exit options.

John joined Higginbotham in 2023 as a commercial insurance specialist, overseeing hundreds of millions in assets nationwide and advising clients on strategies that protect both people and property. He has twice earned Higginbotham’s Sales Goal Honors and was recognized as one of the “Top 100 People in Real Estate” in 2026.

John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 2016. Rooted in his Christian faith, he practices servant leadership, prioritizing community and letting his actions speak louder than words. He championed the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Central Texas and was named one of Austin’s Finest Honorees in 2025. He has also volunteered in Africa through Arise Africa and is an ongoing sponsor for children in Zambia.

At home, John’s greatest blessings are his wife, Jamie, and daughter, Joelle, whose love and support inspire him to pursue every goal in service to God and neighbor.
