President, Business Insurance
As the president of Higginbotham’s Business Insurance department, Chris supervises the firm’s commercial insurance and risk management operations. He is also a commercial insurance broker and surplus lines broker and was appointed to Higginbotham’s Board of Directors in 2009.
Chris started his career at Crum & Forster in 1988 after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. He transitioned to Safeco in 1989, gaining experience as an underwriter of property/casualty business and ultimately becoming regional manager of the workers’ compensation group before joining Higginbotham in 1998.
Chris and his wife Laura have three children — Caleb, Emma and Elizabeth — and are active in their church and community. The duo served on the annual Fort Worth Country Day (FWCD) Fund and the school’s Falcon Club committees. Chris also has served on the boards of the Presbyterian Night Shelter, Fort Worth Pregnancy Center and two terms on the FWCD school board. Currently, he is a board member of the Higginbotham Community Fund and the Greatest Gift Catalogue.
Chris is licensed in property/casualty, surplus lines and risk management with a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
