As Higginbotham’s first Chief Business Officer of Employee Benefits, Carter sets the strategic initiatives for the Employee Benefits division, creating the programs and services to strengthen collaboration and growth between the firm and its carrier partners. This role allows Carter to leverage his extensive experience in health and welfare plan management to optimize operations and enhance service delivery to clients, and take his leadership skills to the next level.

Carter became the youngest Managing Partner at Higginbotham when he was charged with leading the company’s Central Texas Financial Services division in 2022. In this capacity, Carter managed the day-to-day responsibilities of the team, managing and monitoring financial activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. He is credited with launching the HiggTalks podcast to connect successful entrepreneurs with aspiring business owners, sharing strategies for building and scaling a business.

Carter earned a master’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Texas State University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas Christian University. Before joining Higginbotham, he served as a financial representative at Capital Financial Partners, assessing clients’ financial needs and helping them secure their financial future, and was a successful football coach and front-office manager for both the NFL and NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
