In 2010, a single passionate voice sparked a movement at Higginbotham. Tracy Jackson, a dedicated employee of 29 years, approached our CEO, Rusty Reid, with a simple yet powerful statement:
“I don’t want to give to an organization that decides where the money goes. I want to give to the causes that matter to me.”
With Tracy’s vision and a $50,000 seed donation, the Higginbotham Community Fund was born. Since then, this employee-driven, donor-advised fund has become a defining part of who we are, directly reflecting our commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work.
Even after she passed from leukemia in 2018, Tracy’s vision inspires us. “Every time we support a cause that matters to one of us, we carry her legacy forward,” says Rusty.
From an idea to a nationwide (and beyond) impact – here’s how our collective giving has grown thanks to the generosity and heart of our people.
