John Schramm

John Schramm has over 35 years of leadership experience in underwriting, business development, sales and marketing, and operations.

As Chief Operating Officer of Business Insurance at Higginbotham, John oversees the firm’s commercial insurance and risk management operations, focusing on operational excellence, resource management and cross-functional collaboration to drive success. His technical expertise, problem-solving skills and communicative nature make him an ideal mentor to new associates and a trusted advisor for those more seasoned.

Before joining Higginbotham, John was a Senior Vice President Head of US Field Operations at CNA Insurance. He also held leadership roles at American International Group (AIG) and Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

John received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from John Carroll University in Ohio and maintains a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter certification. He is currently a board member on the Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) Educational Foundation, a nonprofit association that promotes the property and casualty insurance industry.
